  1. Starting an analogue listening thread Because Klipsch and records go hand in hand I thought it would be appropriate for a dedicated record spinning thread Time permitting I will work through my record collection one by one and post as I go with a nice photo Hope all record ( darksiders ) tragic's will follow my lead and post on this new Vinyl / Record spinning thread So to kick it off I will post one of the very first albums I purchased - and I had to order it Artist - King Crimson Album - Young Persons Guide TT - Garrard 401 Stylus - Stanton 981 LZS Tonearm - Transfi Terminator Let the fun begin on the Darkside
  2. Nice set of videos from Ortofon, Denmark Mine is 45 years old and still works perfectly as does my Dual turn table
  3. I have a Audio Technica AT-LP60 turntable paired with my Klipsch R-51PM Bookshelf Speakers. My turntable and my speakers both have a built in preamp, so I can either select line on my turntable and line on my speakers to utilize the turntable's internal preamp, or phono on both to utilize the speaker's internal preamp. Does anyone know which will result in better sound quality?
  4. Well, now that my kids are home from college for the foreseeable future, I've decided that I've had enough of my awesome RF83's being part of the home theater in the rec room. Netflix, Playstation, XBox, and Tik Tok do not deserve this quality. I have a pair of R51M's that will do just fine. I'm taking the big guys up to my loft / bar and want a simple 2 channel amp for spinning vinyl, and maybe some streaming some high quality digital files. I can get a good deal on the Denon pma-1600ne but at only 70W at 8 ohms I'm not sure it has the power to drive these big guys. I've had someone suggest the Peachtree Nova 150 as well. I'd like to be between $1,000 - $1,500. Any thoughts out there among the Klipsch experts?
  5. Hi all - I've got 8 DBX encoded records in Jazz and Classical. They can only be played with a DBX encoder! I'd prefer offer as a single lot, and I will double check vinyl condition with visual grade before finalizing - just PM me if you have any interest - at least the album jackets are in the EX+, near mint range and many or most came with the special DBX inner sleeve and all the inserts - at least I haven't bothered to touch any. $102 includes shipping to the US only - ($99 if paying by friends and family or some non-fee method). If you prefer to buy any individually let me know and I'll work it - thanks. PS I have some non-DBX audiophile records that are MFSL half speed master recordings if you wish to learn about, just PM me. (Big rock list still to come too)
  6. I have some LP's that I'd like to sell. They were very well taken care of. Many appear almost new, while the rest may have minor sleeve wear. In any event if you indicate interest I will PM with any details of condition after inspecting more carefully (esp vinyl condition) DOMESTIC SALES ONLY! International shipping is nuts these days! [update: for records sold, indicated below] I have other genres too - just thought I'd try one first. Asking $5 each, and flexible on a bigger purchase. Feel free to ask about anything. 7. This is a poll about upgrading a budget system. What path is the best one to increase sound quality?
  8. Hi guys, in need of some expert advice here please. So here goes, I am about to purchase a Yaqin Mc-13s to use with my Project RPM1 carbon, my question(s) is: do I need to use a pre amp with this setup?, now I’ve heard in some videos that you need to use one with your turntable however I am under the impression that this amp is an “intergrated amplifier” and therefore has a pre amp built in, it has a separate circuit for the preamp stage so why would I need a pre amp? The RPM1 has a phono output and the Yaqin has phono inputs, so it should work right? Or Wrong? I was hoping I could use this Yaqin amp with my Project RPM1 and Klipsch RP-150M speakers. It would be a shame if it didn’t work without a pre amp as I have done much research into tube rolling for the Yaqin and I have found some matched pair Mullard NOS 12AU7 and 12AX7 pre amp tubes that I would like to use eventually, this setup would be coming in at just my budget and as far as I am aware this would be an amazing setup for very little money (£1000-£1500). Im very new to the tube amp market and was hoping I could get a leg up from you guys, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Budding Audiophile Legsman222
  9. Hi everyone, new to this forum, but I am also new to Klipsch so I guess it makes sense. I did a lot of research on a good bookshelf speaker for upgrading my record player setup (within my price range) and settled on the Klipsch R-15M. My current setup is a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon, into a Pro-Ject Phono Box MM, and as of now into a kind of crappy sound bar - so clearly pretty excited for these new speakers. I thought I was fine without any sort of power amp, but after revisiting I am not so sure. So, I was hoping you guys could clear up for me if I need any additional hardware to translate a 12 inch piece of black plastic into beautiful sound. Here are the components of my set up: Record Player: https://www.crutchfield.com/S-p1Fg9GSeAZ2/p_252DBCDCGR/Pro-Ject-Debut-Carbon-DC-Gloss-Red.html Pre-Amp: https://www.crutchfield.com/p_252PBMMB/Pro-Ject-Phono-Box-MM.html?tp=204&awkw=75621861865&awat=pla&awnw=g&awcr=47439160225&awdv=c&awug=9010962&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI6IP_ht_s2gIVBBgMCh0NBQPFEAQYAyABEgInzvD_BwE Future Speakers: https://www.crutchfield.com/S-mkYWglngIs7/p_714R15M/Klipsch-Reference-R-15M.html If I do need an amp to maximize this setup, I would love recommendations! Not too pricey though, I am definitely on a budget Thank you so much!!!

  13. In the spring I will be building my new house. I am looking for ideas/suggestions for a complete surround sound set up that specifically incorporates a turntable so that the sound will be throughout the main living areas - kitchen/living room/dining room. There is a local Klipcsch dealer that I personally know very well who will be installing the system for me but I want some real suggestions from people who love music, use Klipscsh and have incorporated their turntable into their system. I will be purchasing a Rega turntable (undecided on model at this time). Definitely interested in hearing about your set ups and product choices. **Meant to post this in a different category and can't seem to find out how to delete. Sorry!** Thanks J
  14. Hey all, I'm still pretty new here, but I thought I'd pass this along. I have seen several posts about finding speaker grills--and I myself was in the market for grills for my La Scalas. I found a guy here in Chicago who made them for me. They turned out great! (He used the Bob Crites Cloth I got from ebay to make them). The company is called Broken Press Design and you can find them here: http://brokenpressdesign.com/. Here are the grills they made me: Anyway, when I went to pick them up he had some AMAZING midcentury modern furniture that he had designed himself--mostly for amps, vinyl, and CD storage. He apparently also does custom work and has an Etsy page. Seriously cool stuff. I was so excited just looking at this stuff, I thought I'd share!
  15. Taking the opportunity to start a new thread Showcase you're system as it stands now Nothing stoping you from posting regular updates as new equipment is installed My system as it stands now ( I do apologise that the turntable was not ready for these photos )
