THIS MAY BE IMPOSSIBLE TO ANSWER; BUT, I'LL ASK...

I was listening to Virgin Radio London on the internet and they played a song that I have been endlessly searching the internet to find out what it was.

I have VERY little to go on; but, it sounded like it was a 60's English song, and the only lyrics that I can remember are the words "Injun" and maybe "milk."

Not much to go on; but, it's one of those things that is bugging me like crazy--it has become a quest.

This may or may not be it!

Lyrics go something like this: Running Bear loves White Dove.....White Dove loves Running Bear(bare).....

If song, I have a good lead on it, from where I heard it!

The title is......." Running Bear and Little White Dove " recorded by Johnny Preston..........Tribute Album....Best Bet!

RUNNING BEAR
(J.P. Richardson)
Johnny Preston (Mercury 71474, 1959

On the banks of the river
Stood Runnin' Bear, young Indian brave
On the other side of the river
Stood his lovely Indian maid
Little White Dove was-a her name
Such a lovely sight to see
But their tribes fought with each other
So their love could never be

Runnin' Bear loved Little White Dove
With a love big as the sky
Runnin' Bear loved Little White Dove
With a love that couldn't die

He couldn't swim the raging river
'Cause the river was too wide
He couldn't reach Little White Dove
Waiting on the other side
In the moonlight he could see her
Throwing kisses 'cross the waves
Her little heart was beating faster
Waiting there for her brave

Runnin' Bear loved Little White Dove
With a love big as the sky
Runnin' Bear loved Little White Dove
With a love that couldn't die

Runnin' Bear dove in the water
Little White Dove did the same
And they swam out to each other
Through the swirling stream they came
As their hands touched and their lips met
The ragin' river pulled them down
Now they'll always be together
In that happy hunting ground

Runnin' Bear loved Little White Dove
With a love big as the sky
Runnin' Bear loved Little White Dove
With a love that couldn't die

Thanks guys! I like the song! It is set to tom toms with the singer sounding like singing with megaphone!

Heard it on a PBS channel, a movie about a famous Brit political who's career went down around ladies of the night, who performed to the song, at a ahum, gent's club in London. True Story set in early 60(?).

*BigStewMan may have found his song too! Hope so!

Not meant as a h-jack!

i appreciate the effort guys--sadly, that wasn't the song. I hope I don't have to move to London to hear it again. When I heard it, it was before the days of the iphone; but, my brother has one and that application where you hold the phone to the speaker and it tells you the name of the song and the artist--we tried it out and it worked everytime. If I only had it back then. The hard part is that I RARELY listen to the radio--I guess I'll have to just to increase my chances of hearing the song again.

That would be Cups and Cakes by Spinal Tap MN.

Cups and cakes, cups and cakes
Oh what good things mother makes!
You've gotta take tea, won't you take it with me?
What a gay time it will be

Cups and cakes, cups and cakes
Please make sure that nothing breaks
The china's so dear and the treacle so clear
And I'm glad that you are here

Milk and sugar, bread and jam
"Yes please, sir" and "Thank you, ma'am"
Here I am

Cups and cakes, cups and cakes
I'm so full my tummy aches
How sad it must end
But I'm glad I'd a friend
Sharing cups and cakes with me
And cakes with me...
