I am so shocked and depressed! Growing up in the Detroit area during the 60's and 70's, I had plenty of chances to see the Stooges when they were just starting out. I always thought they were a very unique band for their time, considering that there wasn't any real punk type music playing back then.

I was 15 when I first heard "1969" by The Stooges in 1970 and have been a fan ever since. I had the privilege of seeing the Stooges perform locally along with Bob Seger, Ted Nugent, Mitch Ryder, MC5, The Frost, etc, some even playing at high school dances. It was a magical time for music, and I'm glad I was there to experience it first hand. Our Rock & Roll Heros will live forever in the music they blessed us with!
