CIGARBUM
Dean, do have any recommendations for the spades that connect to the crossover?

Deang
Here's what I like for internal wiring. http://www.madisound.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=117_122&products_id=1248 Ignore the BS about skin effect. I like it because it's high quality tin plated OFC and they don't charge out the wazoo for it.

BEC
Dean, Did you see my second link. Only ones of those I can find that are any good. And I have bought dozens of different ones. Most have reduced the metal content of the barrel to the point at a good crimper won't work on them any more. Good fork lugs are really difficult to find. I have found some discontinued ones that were made the old way with the thick metal barrel. I bought 7000 of them. Bob
Blvdre
but my wire stripper thingies don't have a place for 15 ga wire..... 16 guage strippers will work fine - You just need a gentle touch .
Deang
I just use my teeth. Bob, the Panduit pieces were great the last time I used them, but it's been about a year since I ordered any. I'll take your word for it though -- any chance that Robert can pick up what he needs from you?
BEC
I could probably spare a few. Bob
CIGARBUM
Gentleman ( Dean/Bob) you are to kind. From the information provided, I have ordered, I believe what I need. Thanks again. CB
CIGARBUM
I don't care if it is cold, got to get working on these things. Got the motor boards done and all painted, I use a textured type paint, I just like the looks of it.
CIGARBUM
Got the cabinets in the house, all sanded checked again for square, dry fitted the motor boards, everything seems to fit. I really haven't decided on the type of veneer I'm going to use, kind of leaning towards the ribbbon stripped.
CIGARBUM
These are going to be big mother's, I guess that's OK. I think the next step will be to install the woofer, horn and tweeter into the motor boards, I have dry fitted and they fit very nicely. I'm not going to install motor boards in cabinets till after getting the veneering done, I would end up sticking my foot through the woofer or something real stupid. Deang
What's your plan for getting the wiring from one cabinet to the other?
CIGARBUM
Now that I think about it, I don't have a plan, got any simple, easy ways in which I may do this? If this thing works well, I never intend to take it apart, If it doesn't, I don't know what I will do. CB
colterphoto1
What's your plan for getting the wiring from one cabinet to the other? Shut up Dean lol, jk mang
USNRET
a couple of pieces of tin foil (with hyper-gold alloy, unobtainium) on base bin and hf. This would allow you to stack and unstack without having to mess with wires.
CIGARBUM
I kind of like Mike's idea, but other solutions could be. 1. Drill a hole through the top of bass bin and spacer between bass bin and HF cabinet and bottom of HF cabinet, course if you ever wanted to seperate the two, there may be a problem. 2. Put some binding posts on the back of the bass bin and run a jumper to crossover, if you wanted to seperate, just disconnect wire, or if I put a back in the HF cabinet install another set of binding posts to the crossover. 3. I've seen some that have installed a hidden plug, where you just plug the top to the bottom. I guess you would need locator pins and such. Sounds like too much work. When I have to think about some of this stuff it makes my head hurt. I'm open for other ideas. CB
