Wiring for a sub (RT-12d)

I've had my sub working for 7 months now with only one of two possible inputs (I use the Right input for no particular reason). I was wondering if using a Y splitter would make a difference and possibly provide a better input signal to the sub.

I was also considering moving the sub farther from the receiver and using some rg6 coax cable (the kind my cable operator uses). At this point I'm using a Monster coax cable, but I'm not sure if moving to the rg6 would degrade the sub's sound quality.

As long as you've set it up properly, it shouldn't make any difference. You're going from your processors sub/LFE output, right?

Yes.

I noticed you own the same sub. Have you noticed any differences in bass output and/or sound quality when placing the sub directly in the corner of a room? Mines is actually between the TV stand and the left front speaker, and I just refuse to move it unless its actually worth it since I would need to possibly purchase another [good] power strip, and use some rg6 coax cable to get it as far away from the receiver as it would have to be.
