fini
...wires to this plug? Is there a connector made for this?
JL Sargent
They look like they are ready for solder to me. I have put it to many similar pins for Uncle Sam in the USAF.
Blvdre
Personally, I'd do it wire-wrap style. Strip enough wire to wrap it around the pin a few times, as tight as possible to make a good mechanical connection, then solder it up. BLSamuel
Very, very, carefully. I've not soldered much but I like the wire wrap idea. Would it hurt to slide a bit of shrink wrap tubing over the wires first to shrink around the connection? I've never used it but I think it'd be nice to ensure things are well insulated. Marvel
The shrinkwrap is a good idea, but the hard part is being able to have the shrinkwrap far enough up the wire while you do the soldering, so it doesn't shrink while heat it applied to ge the soldering done. Whew! I've had that happen more than once, and I can attach wires rather quickly. [*-)]
fini
I think I may have found a good solution. D-sub female connectors! They fit perfectly! I ran across this article, describing how to use them (the clips) in assembling one's own cartridge clips.
InVeNtOr
Molex crimpers, crimp those pins. no soldering required. (regarding Fini's post)
