oldenough Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 I feel that I should issue a warning for a DVD that I watched last night. Unable to get to the Video store my neighbour gave us a dvd of his to watch, with the comment "you will enjoy this", I guess he dos'nt know my tastes as well as he thinks. The Movie is called XXX (i guess), and stars (?) Vin Diesel. What can I say? Pure un-adulterated crap supported by some of the worst acting I have EVER seen. Don't waste your $5 on this one. You have been warned [] Quote
Speedball Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 Yup Oldenough, I know about that one. It reminds me of a very, very low budget James Bond movie. Quote
oldenough Posted March 8, 2009 Author Posted March 8, 2009 Pat, NO Bond movie was ever THAT bad.....well not quite that bad. [] Quote
Doc Robin Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 It's made for todays younger generation. Lots of unbeliveable action to keep them interested. Later Bill Quote
BuyOtherSoundEquipment Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 It's made for todays younger generation. Lots of unbeliveable action to keep them interested. Later Bill Well, not all of them... Vin Diesel... [+o(] I'd like to see him crash a flaming car into an acting school and get trapped there for a few months. Quote

Bill H. Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 That movie wasn't Vin's best.............but in defense, he is a better actor then Stallone................or Arnold Swartsanactor............... Quote
oldenough Posted March 8, 2009 Author Posted March 8, 2009 Ok, I just checked him out on Wikipedia, apparently he was raised by his Mum and Step-dad who happens to be an ACTING INSTRUCTOR. Go figure huh!! Hope his dad don't put that on his resume. [] Quote
oldenough Posted March 8, 2009 Author Posted March 8, 2009 Hey Sunburn got a review to give us for the sequel, or should I just go and rent it?? LOL. Quote
Vital Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 Yeah Triple X wasn't good but I like a lot of stuff he has done. Check out Chronicles of Riddick - Pitch Black and Chronicles of Riddick. Quote
liebherr954 Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 Ok well this may seem impossible but the sequel was 5x as bad Quote
sunburnwilly Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 Hey Sunburn got a review to give us for the sequel, or should I just go and rent it?? LOL.I would check it out from your local library , if your an Ice Cube fan [] . Quote
kelA Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 I think my favorite movie with him in it would be Saving Private Ryan. Mainly because he doesnt last too long.[] To be fair though, I did like Fast and Furious. Quote
jwc Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 Best movie with Vin deisel is Pitch Black. One of my favorites. Quote
toddvj Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 Pitch Black was good, but Chronicles of Riddick was better. Boiler Room was also a good Vin Diesel movie. I watched xXx a few years back, thought it was ok. Can't really remember what it was about though... Quote
jwc Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 Interesting the difference in what people consider great movies. It's good we all don't like the same thing....it would be real boring. I thought the Chronicles of Riddick was a typical Hollywood modern day scifi action film way over done with unbeleivable action and effects. had the "cool" effect. The XXX was even more of this. That is entertaining in one way....which is good for some. XXX has some great cheesy lines like stallone and Arnold movies that crack me up. Pitch Black reminded me of Alien with basic effects and build of characters w/in the dialogue. The storyline was unique. I've watch Pitch Black several times and I own it. I've seen other movies of Vin like Fast and Furious and the one where is the musclehead friend of a Gangsters son (can't remember the name). Pitch Black still remains my favorite. jc Quote
JSChapman Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 I've seen other movies of Vin like Fast and Furious and the one where is the musclehead friend of a Gangsters son (can't remember the name). Knock Around Guys is the name your looking for. Alright here I go on the defense for poor old Vin diesel. First off I am a big fan of Vin and I own almost every movie he has been in. He is the kind of actor( kj5dq mentioned this)that caters to a new type of action movie crowd, not necessarily a young crowd. I admit that some of his movies... well, they suck. Give him a fair shot though. He is just not your cup of tea. Quote

"Not my cup of tea", for some strange reason I prefer to watch movies with women who like men, not men who like men. Gays don't make for the best action film stars. [+o(] Roger Quote
