willland
Found an RC-7 in cherry to go with my RF-63's. I currently am using an RC-62. For the right price should I switch? Sell RC-62 for $250 to $300 and buy RC-7 for $400. What do you think? Bill
Moderators Youthman Posted March 19, 2009 Moderators Share Posted March 19, 2009 The RC-7 is a great speaker but I have to say that I truly prefer my RC-64 over it. It is clearly the best center channel speaker I have ever heard. If you can hold out, I would wait for a good deal on the matching RC-64, I don't think you will regret it. I picked mine up for under $600 when they were selling the cherry finish at around 50% off. The good thing is that you can buy the RC-7 and should have no problem selling it in the future if you decide to get the RC-64.
willland
Thanks Youthman. I was thinking the exact same thing. Buy the RC-7, sell the RC-62, and wait for a good deal on the RC-64 in the future. If I can get the RC-7 for $400, I should have no problem reselling it for at least that or more. willland
Any opinions on the sound matching and forwardness? Better than the RC-62? Bill
Moderators Youthman Posted March 20, 2009 Moderators Share Posted March 20, 2009 I think it's safe to say you can at least get your money back from it. I sold mine a few months ago for $450.00. $400 is a good price if it is in good condition.
HudsonValleyNoah
I own the RC-64 The RC-7 and the RF-63 and The RF-7. The 7's sound better together than with either of the others. Same with the 63 / 64; sounds better than with any of the 7's... When I am running BOTH the RF-63 and the RF-7's at the same time, the RC-64 sounds better than the RC-7. Well, to me anyway... Unless you have an RC 7 with a Dean X-over upgrade, then you would be hard press to hear the difference. I
