440Films
I utilize my Presence Channel on my Yamaha receiver. At first I didn't notice anything. I had to get up on a chair to see if anything was coming out. The sound is very faint and for HT they play the score and wide sound effects. Large speakers would be over kill. I have had Yamaha Receivers for 10 years and I'm happy with them although I am using an external amp and have an Emotiva on order. I really notice the Presence speakers when I turn them off. The sound immediately collapses down to the floor. Since they are only used with in Yamaha's DSP modes it does not color straight Dolby Digital. And you can tweak the settings. One setting is called Dialogue lift. It sends a bit of information from the center to faintly come out of the Presence Speakers. I have my center under my TV and sometimes I can tell the sound is coming from under the tv and not from the screen. This helped. It did make the sound stage feel taller and wider in the front. This is of course my experience and I do not utilize the DSP settings always but being use to them I kind of "miss them" when not used. If you haven't heard it it's worth a listen but it took me a while to appreciate them.
Rocko81
in 11.3 you have to dig a trench under you listening room to position two 'depth' speakers for the submarines in U571 This is getting STUPID Colter I'm laughing so hard at your comment I just woke my Wife up, man is she pissed! Mr. RF62
I think colter should write the patent for it right now, then sell it. Or get the surprise that Dolby already has that theory and has already been there, done that. LOL[]

roaddog359
What type of speaker are you supposed to us? Direct or non direct? What klipsch would be good for this type of format?
440Films
I use direct speakers with the Yamaha. Their is barely any sound that comes out. You could use Quintets and be fine. I don't know what the Dolby set up will require.
tommyboy
I would think you would use direct speakers??? I'm personally in no hurry to rush out and buy a pre/pro that is capable of this sound mode...... But like I said earlier in this thread, I would like to hear it though................
