big_shooter
I am using a very nice Magnavox 15 watt stereo tube amp for my Cornwalls. The speaker terminals consist of three screws, "1", "2", and "C". Here is a illustration showing how I have them hooked up. It sounds great but I'd like to know If this is the way they were meant to be hooked up. Thanks
jamesV
Wow very interesting. I can only guess that the "C" would be the negative for the speakers. I would like to know also now. James
John Warren
I would surmise that "C" is the COMMON terminal (i.e. common connection for both speakers) which would suggest that your very cool schematic is the correct way to wire your system. JL Sargent
Yes, thats the corrrect way to hook it up. If your Maggie has single ended 6BQ5 tubes for the output its probably about 5 watts per.
big_shooter
Yep, your right. It does have two 6BQ5's. Wow, 5 watts and It sounds like this? Amazing. This is my first "Maggie" and I'm just getting into tube technology. Very impressive. Thanks everybody.
big_shooter
here is the latest addition to the cornwalls. 5 watts per channel never sounded so good.
mike stehr
That's the 196 series of single-ended 6BQ5 Magnavox. IMO, I think they are the best version with the larger OPT's than most other of the little single-ended 6BQ5 Magnavox console amps. Good score.
