Welcome Fredrik,

I gave up listening to CDs because I got tired of hearing 1s and 0s instead of music. I auditioned my CD player at the modifier's shop, liked what I heard and bought the Hotrodaudiomod Jolida 100a. Many brands out there (duh) and although a bit out of my normal cost range for a CD player, I am extremely happy with mine; especially with XRCDs. I have had zero issues on fit, finish and function but I have heard complaints on fit and finish.

I've been very happy with my McIntosh MVP871 (not anyone else's...just mine :) ). It'll handle CD, CD-R, CD-RW, HDCD, DVD, DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD-AUDIO, SACD and probably others I can't remember at the moment. The only ever so slight gripe I have is that it's a bit slow reading the disc after it's first put in.

fredrik,

I have been very pleased using the AH! Njoe Tjoebs CD4000. It is a Dutch Marantz tube output conversion CD player, of course, starting out with an OEM Marantz CDP before conversion. The sound is very good to my ears and I've been using it for five years. I've pasted in a couple of links below. Upscale Audio (where I bought mine) has got some good links to player info and reviews. Also noticed that on hifi-notes.com they have info on shipping to Sweden.

If you live in Sweden you must be familiar with Primare - Made in Sweden (or at least a Swedish company).

I have the CD21 and I am very happy with it. I just purchased K-Horns the other day so I can't say whether or not it's a good match for Klipsch yet, however. They sell here for $1,300, I'd be curious what they sell for in Sweden.
