JDJohnson
Although they're tall, I wanted my Chorus II speakers to fire directly toward me, so I built these wedge shaped tilted bases for them.

JDJohnson
The strip of board on top is to keep the Chorus from sliding back and it aligns the Chorus's base to it. Heavy duty adjustable spikes are installed on its bottom and that set its thickness dimension.
jbsl
Nice, very nice!![Y] I've thought about the same thing for my Fortes. When I had La Scalas I built a 6 1/h inch riser and to me had much better sound.
JDJohnson
Thank you. I like how they turned out. Directing the Chorus more toward the listener's ear level definitely made an improvement.

Daddy Dee
that looks quite workable. what is the material in the new base?
DU73
fantastic job... looks awesome... i have always wondered about the some of the heritage line, re not a tower speaker. yes I am sure they sound amazing and i wish i can audition some to be blown away by the sound. but we always go on here about angleing speakers towards listening position, but generally with the heritage line we normally go against that rule. excuse my ignorance on the subject. colterphoto1
between that tilt and the vibrations from the mighty Chorii (plural of Chorus you know), that's gonna seriously *** with someone's doilies and nick-nacs!
JDJohnson
Look good! I like the idea of using those with larger speakers. Sorry. I've been out of town for some days and not able to reply. These slanted bases work great for these large speakers.

JDJohnson
Wow! These new styled Klipsch bases look just like mine that I designed back around 2009! What do you think? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Klipsch-RP280FA-Kit-Ebony-Vinyl-Atmos-Tower-Speakers-Pair-/152383224871?hash=item237abf7c27:g:AyUAAOSwa~BYbWBj
longdrive03
SB, bases look great! I like your engineering on these. Does make a difference to point the tweeter and mid up a bit. Doesn't help to have the tweeter firing at your kneecaps. Great job.
jjptkd
Very nice, kind of looks like the new RP? line? These speakers are very directional, especially at lower volumes so this can really make a world of difference. For 95% of my listening I like to stare straight down the barrel of the horns, only when I crank things up do I point the speakers straight forward but even then the mid / tweet should be angled up at the right height.
