joestar777
Hi, Should I spend $40 for 13 feet of expensive "Monster Subwoofer 400sw High Performance Cable"? Please explain the advantage of more expensive subwoofer cabling [if any]. Thanks, Joe

joestar777
Hi, Thanks for the info! Also, would any RCA audio connector work till I buy new cabling for the subwoofer? Thanks, Joe

RichardP
Any RCA will work, but it should be shielded. A thin unshielded RCA can pick up electromagnetic radiation from household current in nearby powercords or even though the walls, which has a 60-hz cycle, and will be manifested in a nice 60-Hz hum from the sub. BuyOtherSoundEquipment
You need a Monster 1000 series subwoofer cable, because it will give you "deeper, tighter bass". Or at least that's what the package says... so it must be true. [8-|] Like others on the forum, I love monoprice.com. I'm using their 12ft high-quality digital audio/video coaxial RCA. It's an awesome deal at $3.87. http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10236&cs_id=1023603&p_id=2682&seq=1&format=
colterphoto1
any rca will work yes use wire, wire will work any shielded cable with RCA terminations will do the trick. Use the rest of the money for two new DVD's, preferably one that the wife likes. You'll get more mileage out of that.
Just_Strummin
No advantages by using more expensive subwoofer cabling. Just buy quality OFC cable.
lo123
Bought my exposed sub cables from Blue Jeans cable, good prices, good cable, they answer emails, etc. For in-wall, I just ran RG-6 coax with appropriate adapters for the wall plates. Sounds good to me.
