Tony Reed
I need 2 screws that mount the woofer in a Heresy II. I don't want to go through Klipsch for 2 screws. Does anyone know where these can be purchased? They don't look like your "run of the mill" screws. Thanks, Tony
colterphoto1
are they Phillips head Tony? About #8 x 3/4"? I'll check stock tomorrow, might have some. M
Tony Reed
Michael, Phillips head. Looks like a #8. 1" long from the underneath of the head... 1 1/8" overall. Thanks, Tony
russ69
That's a pan head wood screw but with a deep pan head (Phillips-full thread). Thanx, Russ
fini
Tony, they look like what's called a "cheese head" screw. I've never seen them in anything other than machine screw threads.
colterphoto1
yeah Klipsch used a bunch of weird stuff from time to time. I have some with 3/16 shoulders and Torx heads but nothing like what you show. Sorry.
fini
You know, when I first read the title of the thread I thought Tony was looking to trade risque favors for some speaker parts. My bad!
Malcolm
The screw in question appears to be a fillister head sheet metal screw. They are used in the automotive industry and elsewhere. Frankly, it isn't the best choice for securing a speaker to the motorboard. There is really no correct "Klipsch" screw. Klipsch seems to have often used whatever was available and worked for screws, capacitors, etc. From what I have seen, most often it was a pan head sheet metal screw. A truss head screw would be the best choice IMHO.
