russ69
Cornwalls are nice bookshelf speakers, you just need a REALLY BIG shelf,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Thanx, Russ
SWL
attached them to an ordinary sony prologic amp in stereo modeI've never heard celestions before but perhaps they're just more compatable with the Sony.I'm sure you've heard it before that Klipsch are very sensitive to what they are being fed. Crap in = crap out. This may be the case......or not.
Pete H
Cornwalls are nice bookshelf speakers, you just need a REALLY BIG shelf,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Thanx, Russ I think the Cornwalls would also make fine car audio speakers too, but the same rule would apply, in fact I think you would need a Hearse! 33RPM
I dare you to put your bookshelf speakers up against my new H3's. I don't think you'd come to the same conclusions about Klipsch vs. bookshelf speakers! []
33RPM
Also, let me point out that the Reference series is not considered to be the last word in 2-CH music speakers by a sizable constituency of Klipsch fans, esp. those of use with Heritage gear. I was never all that happy with the RF/RB series for music, but couldn't be happier with my 3-way Heritage speakers. Something about that big sealed woofer and dedicated mid-horn changes everything....
neo33
NO Reference speakers will ever beat my La Scalas for music! Cut-Throat
Possible. - Depends on the Amp, Room, Mini Monitors, and Klipsch Floorstanders. Before I became a 'Horn Devotee', I used to use Mini Monitors with a Subwoofer and a 250 watt per channel hybrid Tube amp. I did not hear anything sweeter until I heard SET amps with Horns. -- So, that is the direction I went. The only blanket statement you can make in Audio, is that there are no blanket statements. oldenough
To get the best from your RF-3's....Two words.."Quality"..."Power". Sure I know that might seem to be obvious to many here but I can't over emphasize the statement. When I moved from a receiver to seperates and a 120wpc the difference was truly an eye opener. I would be willing to bet that when you get this combination right the wharfedales will not seem so impressive in comparison to the Klipsch. I have found that Wharfedales along with some other British makes are quite forgiving of the amplification being used, I do speak from experience here and I own Wharfedales, Missions and B&W. my suggestion buy yourself a "decent" NEW two channel amp with decent wattage. Look at the offerings from Harman Kardon, you could do a lot worse.
