Hi All,

  UPDATE No. 2

Just got an "official" KG2.2 Crossover Schematic (Ver. B?) from Klipsch directly for those who may be interested (See KG2.2B.... below...and apologies I couldn't figure out how to show it as an image :(. No info on whether the caps are NPO electrolytics (all may be) or some form of film caps. Also no info on tolerance or voltage specs. However, most of the info I've seen indicate 100VDC. Tolerance is up to you (10%, 5% or 1%), depending on how much you want to pay for the caps.

   Enjoy and cheers....

UPDATE:

Brain must not yet be engaged :(   Forgot to attach a schematic I found (iirc on audiokarma.org). I added the notes on the lower left from someone's comments...thus not sure what's valid.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm looking to "refresh" the x-over caps in my KG 2.2s (I'm original owner). I was wondering if there was a "real" schematic out there for these spkrs (might also be for KG2.5s since they are somewhat similar...or maybe not).

I've come across a couple of schematics but some cap and res values are different (old saying: "A man with no watch never knows the time. A man with 2 is never sure."...I'm a man with 2 :)

Thanks in advance...cheers....

New to the forum and currently own KG3.5's. I have decided to change out the caps first on these. Today I took out the crossover to confirm the capacitors. What is interesting is the pcb is for KG3 and KG1. The 8uf cap is soldered into a location that is labeled 7uf. I'll go with the 8uf unless somebody has a reason to go with a 7uf.

I bought used Cornwall III and they don't sound like they should. 😥
This pair is about 10 years old and their cabinets/horns/drivers have signs of repair/upgrades.
I believe the drivers are not properly connected.
Does anyone have a crossover scheme for Cornwall III🙏

Thanks,

Konstantin.

It must be a great trade secret!

You scoff at the company as if what they do is child's play and that any fool could reproduce or better their results with some on line free design program.  Figuring out crossovers is complicated stuff otherwise we could do it ourselves. Who wants to give their experience and insights into how to design well away to the competition?

I came across this schematic on line I cannot vouch for it. I don't have a CW3 or know anyone who has a pair. Perhaps someone who owns a set and is willing to pull the network and poke around can confirm or deny?

Hello from France (Europe). Sorry for my bad english (or american). I got Cornwall III since 2014 and very happy with them (with a Pass Labs INT 30, miam !) but i'm not an electronic specialist, so impossible to say if this diagram is good or not.

It would be good to find a diagram for Cornwall III  !!

Looks like could be the schematic, not sure though...

Your crossovers should be fine since only about only 5 years old... Welcome...

OK Billy, than'ks !! well, they only have 5 years but one of the boomers  "died" in 2018. I don't know why, i never do "special nights" with my hifi..... In France it's impossible to find Klipsch Speakers, so i installed Eminence Kappa 15 instead of the originals.

The Eminence are very good and work well.

if you still have the woofer that died you have nothing to loose by re flowing the solder joints of the tinsel leads to the terminal tab. That might correct the problem as cold joints do happen. If it still does not work you can lift the dust cap to see if you can access the other end of the tinsel leads to the actual voice coil wire and re flow those as well then if it still does not work it is time for a recone job. The Kappa was no doubt a good replacement choice. Enjoy your speakers.

Think some here hold that speaker in high regard. They are your speakers to do with what you would like to do. If any questions, please start a new topic thread and we will address then... or continue here... Do you have any idea why your 15 inch woofer stopped working...?...welcome again.
