Carbon_66
I'm glad I cut the 45 on the doggie door. They float just above the floor.

Carbon_66
This has been a really cool project and I'm very happy with the results. They have been oiled with Watco danish to 400. You could see a slight veneer line. I rolled a paper towel the size of a pencil and drug the corners with Minwax red mahogany 225 and wiped off the excess. Huge difference. The best trick I learned is to glue the veneer piece completely before cutting, and the Olfa rotary cutter and mat. I'm running these with an Onkyo 806. Great receiver, and I can run the Directv and Vizio with the remote. My Sony 555ES has more power. I'm looking for a Mcintosh 754. My next project is a pair of Heresys, decorator style, with a twist.[H] http://www.veneersupplies.com/ http://www.olfaproducts.com/CategoryProductList.jsp?cat=z-OLFA+Rotary+Cutters%2C+Blades+and+Accessories http://www.southernlumber.com/specialty-woods/wood-grain-gallery.aspx

Islander
La Scalas should have come from the factory looking like that. I always thought the 3/4" sides looked sort of spindly and disproportionate, while the 1" version looks "right" and likely sounds a bit better. Job well done!
