I was doing a favor for a guy this weekend and while installing his system he choose not to put the laserdisc player in. I'll check with him today. [] I was remembering back in college how BAD I wanted one but at the time, they were $400 for a Pioneer Laser Disk Player and like many college students....I was broke. Thaddeus Smith Posted April 12, 2010 Share Posted April 12, 2010 so, aside from the nostalgia factor ..what does laserdisc provide today that HDDVD/Bluray doesn't? I know at the time it was THE format for ultimate quality and I remember going to a friend's house and immersing myself in his dad's super elite 5.1 system and watching die hard on LD, but it just seems unecessary these days.
