samson
I have a bunch of HD movies and two mediocre players(Xbox360&Toshiba HD A3). What player is the best performer, price doesn't matter.
darylomer12
From what I've heard and read, the Toshiba HD-XA2 is a great player. The only flaw I've read is the slower load time (about 50 seconds)....Typo fixed
samson
Load times don't bother me, I just want a glitch free unit that will play all my discs without problems. Let me add that 1080p playback is preferred, but not a must.
jamesV
You can look at the Oppo BDP-83 SE. James
CECAA850
Without a doubt, the Toshiba XA2. It was their flagship player.
CECAA850
You can look at the Oppo BDP-83 SE. James I wasn't aware that it would play HDDVD's. You might want to check on that.

Cal Blacksmith
Not to be a spending spree killjoy, [] But I am very happy with the results I get from my PS3. I have NO issues in playback of any sort. Heck, I even picked up a Sony BD player for about $100 and it has flawless performance so shoot for the moon if you want but for me, personaly, the modest priced players are doing a pretty darn good job. jacksonbart
Does it also play betamax?
samson
Yeah, I'm good with the Blu-ray players, but I've got a ton of HD DVD's that I'd like to play. It looks like the HD-XA2 is the way to go.

RockOn4Klipsch
......xa2, i suppose HD DVD = Blu Ray in somes minds??????
Chosen1
I have (2) Xa35 units that have been problem free. They're capable of 1080p HD DVD performance and pretty good with dvd upconversion and cd playback. However from what I understand the Xa2 may be a better built unit in terms of heft, but not as efficient with load times.
