Cerwin Vega and 80hz horns

Recommended Posts

Those bass horns look like some type of an Altec horn? A 210? I'm not sure.

So that's a horn that you can cross INTO at 80hz?

Biggun.

Not sure what you mean by "cross into," but 80 Hz would be the horn's f3.

So the "small" horn is about 4" wider than a La Scala. [:D]

A single Lab 12. In use there will be four (or more) per side to go to 28hz.

Yes, it really needs to be that big in free space (4Pi). Here is a 100hz horn I made around 1981, same width but a bit shorter (size is identical to an Altec 210 horn, but for a pair of 12s):

Correct. The above photo had an F3 in 2Pi of 95hz, and was actually crossed at 200hz in 4Pi to have constant directivity.

You could be right about the 511, Joe (the guy in the second picture) sent me those photos and said he was going to use an HP640 in the final install.
