Hoenig
I am a very satisfied owner of a Klipsch RT-10. I have many people come to my basement and love the sound of the sub. In fact I had someone offer to buy it this past weekend for more than what I have in it. With that being said, I also have a lead on a 2 yr old RT-12d for a reasonable price. Would it be worth $200 for the upgrade? I would have to drive 3 hours to get it. I love good bass and I hear my RT-10 distort form time to time on heavy bass songs (never in a movie). Does the RT-12D produce better/cleaner/deeper bass? Please let me know your thoughts as I do not want to waste any time or money. Thanks! zappa883
From my experience, the more air you move the more bottom end. I've never heard either but do run 2 x KSW 15's and managed to find one of those for the cost of your upgrade only. Tough call.
TNRabbit
I say sell the RT-10 to the guy who wants it for more than you have in it & apply the return to the RT-12 you have a line on. It's a win/win situation!
TheEAR
RT10 vs RT-12D upgrade for only $200.00! An easy choice unless you are cash strapped to the max. The RT12D moved roughly double the air of the RT10. More output, slightly better extension too. So it is a YES, worth it.
jrod
Agreed! I love my RT-10d, but I would make that upgrade in a second if given the option!
TheEAR
RT10 and RT10d....not the same. RT10d uses two PR's VS the RT10 single PR. More output down deep, the RT10d and RT12d ...not a major gain or loss from one to the other.
Hoenig
What??????? The tag just says RT-10 but I am pretty sure out of the (3) 10's only one is a driver. The other (2) are passive. Almost positive.....
