Fortes - no bass

Recommended Posts

The magnet breaks off either the front or back plate, and then sticks to the same plate (because it's magnetic). The voice coil gets pinched between the shifted magnet and the pole-piece.

Remove the cone. Either the coil is totally fried and stuck in the gap, or the magnet is shifted.

I would buy a used woofer on eBay.

Please:

I own Forte speakers. My Passive Radiator is 12”, not 14”. What year would that be?

No numbered tags either on the back.

Yours are first-series Fortes, manufactured sometime between 1985 and 1989; whether the terminal plate is round or square will narrow it down a bit, but I don't remember which years equate to which style of terminal cup.
