Paul Folbrecht
Here's a K-23 from a Forte: http://cgi.ebay.com/Klipsch-K-23-K-woofer-Forte-speakers-/190418060264?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Speakers_Subwoofers&hash=item2c55cd03e8 I guess that won't work in a Forte II? Paul Folbrecht
I paid $400 for the speakers + $190 for packing & shipping. They are 1990s and are in fair condition other than the shipping damage (both have some corner damage). I am asking for $200 back from the seller. He's out of the country at the moment. Speakmeister
The K-23 will work just fine. it is electrically identical to the K-25, just no rear venting of the voice coil. I am sure if you pull out the bad woofer the magnet hasbroken off the frame and is causing to lock-up of the cone.
Paul Folbrecht
I did pull the woofer and the magnet is not broken off. But the cone will not move. Weird, eh??
djk
The magnet breaks off either the front or back plate, and then sticks to the same plate (because it's magnetic). The voice coil gets pinched between the shifted magnet and the pole-piece. Remove the cone. Either the coil is totally fried and stuck in the gap, or the magnet is shifted. I would buy a used woofer on eBay.
DCoachShu
Please: I own Forte speakers. My Passive Radiator is 12”, not 14”. What year would that be? No numbered tags either on the back. Dave

Dave Yours are first-series Fortes, manufactured sometime between 1985 and 1989; whether the terminal plate is round or square will narrow it down a bit, but I don't remember which years equate to which style of terminal cup.
