seti
Was it a Brooks...or Leak...? What was the model number? Thanks, Ki Brook 12A Here are some pics I took of his Brook preamp and amp. He took great care of his equipment. Mint. We are still looking for his Klipschorn mod.
mungkiman
Seti, I thought the (potential) mod was on your web-site?

seti
Seti, I thought the (potential) mod was on your web-site? It was passed to me as the mod but it has not been verified. I'm awaiting firm confimation from a tech that I sent the schematics. Couldn't bring myself to touch the 12A amp or I would have taken a pic of the underside. mungkiman
He changed to a SS amp just as soon as he could. To use with his Bose speakers, no doubt.

fini
Was it a Brooks...or Leak...? As I understand it, the longer he listened to a Brook, the more he wanted a Leak.
seti
He changed to a SS amp just as soon as he could. In the museum there was one of the first McIntosh solid state amps. In the DFH it mentions the Marantz9 as a favorite. Then he went with a Crown SS. I'm sure Trey can fill us in on the rest. The McIntosh to the left is the 2100 SS. In the museum there was abit of Lowther Quad and Leak tube gear.
Ki Choi
Thanks for the info guys. I tought about getting a Leak 20 for my Khorn hoping it was the Paul's favorite tube amp. Fortunately, I see an amp that might be a Marantz 8B behind the McIntosh 100. It's been a while my 8B got to drive the Khorn. Ki
Klipsch Employees Trey Cannon Posted August 24, 2010 Klipsch Employees Share Posted August 24, 2010 Last time I looked he had a PRO amp running things. BGM but I am not sure. High dampining factor, low distoration and lots of headroom.
