jwatkin
What's the rule for matching a speaker's power handling spec with an amplifier's rated output spec? Is the Synergy System 6 a good match for the Denon AVR-1601 for a 12' x 12' room?
dougdrake
I think the rule is there really is no rule. Klipsch speakers put out tons of volume with very little power. You can connect very high power amps to Klipsch speakers, yet use just a fraction of their capability. The only time there is a threat is if you crank the amps up to the breaking point and leave them there. You're generally better off having too much power (throttled back) than not enough power (straining to reach the high levels). You'll be fine with the System 6 and the Denon 1601.
