Need advice on a new blu-ray...

I currently have my PC running Windows XP connected to the TV.

(Using Dual View on my Nvidia 9600GT card); I just drag the window of whatever movie I am watching over to the tv and maximize.

I will be purchasing a BD drive for this PC soon. (For now; it has been BD ripped or 1 to 1 copies and DVDs). Also; Netflix is a drag over (streaming) from monitor to tv.

I agree the Media center PC may seem challanging; but worth it.

My real bonus here is I have over 120 gigs of music; 320kps and lossless mostly; on an external 1 TB drive. (I use this PC for music as well.)

Very rarely do I break out the CDs. The sound quality is excellent using WMP 11 and these files. (Anything less than 320 is noticably less good).

All of this from the same PC is very nice to have.....

Good Luck!

Yea Ironsave

I run an Asus 9600GT silent . I do a lot with TMT3 and ANYDVD.

I still don't quite have this whole HDMI bitstreaming thing figured out yet.. I tried playing around with a couple Sapphire Radeon cards

( with Bitstreaming thru HDMI)

I..but deceided to go back to Nvidia..Didn't care to much for Catalyst.

So now I just use Toslink and Prologic IIx Movie.

I ran Windows XP MCE 2005 for a long time

You got to go Windows 7 and Media Browser.

The user interface will blow you away compared to XP
