Which Sub?

If you have some wood working skills, the TUBA project may be your ticket. It's not so much the size of the speaker as it is the volumn of the enclosure. There are several threads running around on this forum about them. I was fortunate to pick up the Danley kits when they first came out, probably some of the best money I have spent.....!

I have this sub.

It kept up with Pro Cornwalls just fine and it was not even set up properly; as the RCA cable was not long enough.

I can definitely say I recommend it.

IMHO way better than a Sub 12.

OTOH; you will have 10 people telling you 10 different subs.

Check out Epik; ED; HSu, Emotiva, SVS,and Velodyne.

Your challange will be room size.

Good Luck.

Couple other details: how loud do you like to listen to your movies, and how far away from the subwoofer will you sit?

FWIW, I own a SVS PB-10 NSD in a room of similar size to your own. I sit about 8-10 feet away from it and measure levels of roughly 103-5dB at peaks from it in my typical movie watching, which is a fair bit down from reference levels. Suffice it to say, things get rumbling well enough for my tastes (and that of the ultimate volume limiter, the wife). However, if you desire higher levels than that, or if you sit further away than I do, you'd most certainly need a more capable sub than the PB-10, which I'd say is comparable in ability to the Sub-10 or 12.
