DLStryker
Does the Electrovoice 15B or 15L sound better as a replacement driver in a 3 way home speaker? Does anyone have experience with these two drivers? Is there anotherr EV model that makes a better choice? Thank You
Sandy West
Your woofers should be a matched in stereo (two channel) loudspeakers. The best replacement, unless you intend to change the woofers in both speaker systems, is whatever the loudspeaker system originally used--a direct replacement rather than a substitution. colterphoto1
I used EVM-15L in my first Cornwalls for a while, thought they sounded ok but that was years ago.
FranJ
I used EVM15L in my LS for a short while, they're great woofers, beautifully built, but they just didnt sound as good as K33... they don't go as low, at least in that configuration... DLStryker
Yes, I will be replacing both in a set of cornwalls.
djk
An EVM-15B would be 3dB down at 100hz, and about 7dB down at 39hz in a Cornwall cabinet. It would also require a different crossover network because the impedance is much higher.
