Myhamish
I've got one 2 tb gig hd, a 1.5 gig hd, a 750 gig hd and a bunch of 320-500 gig hds. If any of them crashes, everything is gone. If a DVD-ROM crashes, you're only out 4.5 gigs worth. Believe it. Hamish
Groomlakearea51
Storage - Two separate hard drives on external "bay", backed up at the same time. If one goes, likely the other won't.... Music list on computer in Excel. Only have about 250 CD's, can pretty much remember them and where they are in the stacks/ rows on the shelf. LarryC
my low-tech way is remeber the covers to my reccords Me too, for my old collection of LPs. That's why I group them by record brand, which is easily visible by color on the cover spines, and then alphabetize within each brand by composer.CD are more hither-and-yon brandwise, so I just alphabetize by composer. Moderators dtel Posted May 8, 2011 Moderators Share Posted May 8, 2011 They say it's better to also store a copy off site. Being nice [] I will send you a external hard drive, load it up and I will hold it for you if you have a problem. []
