Need parts for KA-1000-THX

I need help!!

I have the KA-1000-THX Amp and in need of either a part number or where to purchase.

I refuse to send in my Amp to Sybesma Electronis and pay the $240.00 for a $2.00 part!!

The part needed is the potentiomer that controlls the volumne (gain controll).

Klipsch says they do not release the information and is forcing me to send in

my Amp for repairs (not providing schmatics).

On the Pre board THX1215 PRE Rev. 02 and P/N: 015-300400-101ZR I need (VR2 location) the potentiomer (gain controll)

B100K ink stamped (partical part number) on the top and molded on the back is (Tawian Alpha).

Any help is appreciated.

I am getting no where with Klipsch...I am being held hostage and forced into

sending in my Amp to Sybesma and having to pay them ransom of $300.00.

All I need is a $2.00 part from Alpha...I have some of the part numbrer RD902F-20-XXD-B100K

They will not even help me with this poorly made dime a dozen Taiwan part...

Klipsch 2-year warranty is a SLAP in the face for an inferior product I thought was good.

Live and learn paying $1500 for a piece of crap Taiwan product.

To be fair, the CS team did not have that schematic until today...

They have rules in place to keep production information in house...If the amp is in production, don't give out the schematic.

The main EE that would have been able to answer your question was in China when you contacted us. Who ever you contacted just didn't think to ask me.

I would have sent you the info about the part, with out sending the schematic. As you state in your post, it is a 100k Ohm part.

As for parts, we don't have any for that amp, or for most any amp we build. They are all vendor replaceable or outside repair or buy a new amp. It's not like the old days when we kept board level parts in stock.

So, IF they would have had the schematic and could have found the part info, they still could not send you a part.

Thank you for your e-mail, when this amp goes (which it will soon) out I am replacing it with another brand.

I
am glad that I did not pay anywhere $1500 for that Amp, after looking
inside it should have retailed for $500.00 for a China product.

I am old school, where I used to repair electronics (McIntosh) and never had a problem
getting part numbers to make any repairs.

I found a close match and it worked, caused me hours of research and frustration for

a $3.00 part.

I have the same amp. It burned the pcb amplification.

I can measure the potentiometer and give you the measurements.

Could you give me detailed photos of the PCB up and down ??

My problem is greater.
