Moderators dtel Posted May 27, 2011 Moderators Share Posted May 27, 2011 and the way the cones move during the romantic scenes You are sitting way too close to your speakers, you supposed to look at the screen. I have not seen the movie Showgirls so I don't know. What "cones" were talking about, on the screen or the speakers ?

billybobg
I think the quiet scenes below deck are phenomenal. You hear the ship groan and creak. Then again..... what's wrong with cannonballs and wind..[]

Moderators dtel Posted May 29, 2011 Moderators Share Posted May 29, 2011 Glad I could contribute! You did and thank you. [Y] I put it on the list with Netflix from the reviews I read here, I had no idea Cher was even in the movie. I don't listen to her music, [] until it was over and looked at the cover I didn't know it was Christna A, had no idea what she looked like or what kind of voice she had. But it sounded great ! psg
I wouldn't have started to watch The Voice if it hadn't been for that movie. It gave me respect for that woman's talent!
Magneto_Plasmoid
House of flying daggers and Hero have amazing LFE and surround sound. Definitley worth a look if you like a good martial arts movie.
Heritage_Head
I watched shoot em up last night on blu ray. The movie got perfect scores on blu ray.com (that don’t always matter much) for pic, sound, and movie. I have over 200 blu rays and can say it’s one of the top 2 or 3 sounding blu rays I’ve ever heard wow!! [] And paid $6 for it new on amazon []

themrclean
One of my favorites has to be Swordfish, not so much the whole movie but the 360 degree explosion in the bank is among the best I've heard.
yellowcanary73
Transporter 3 has a lot of action scenes with great surround.Movie its self not bad not great but it will put your speakers through a workout.
robc1976
"War of the worlds" will take your breath away! It has everything in it....LFE, found effects ect....
Brunt
Thought... Tron has cool music, especially in the surrounds, which I feel is overlooked due to it's LFE content. Recently checked out Lord of the Rings on Bluray...specifically Two Towers which has some great LFE during final battle at Helm's Deep...the explosion the destroys the wall is famtastic. Also recently check out The Island...great sound during second half of movie. Star Trek reboot has some tough LFE for some subs.
JasonJCarney
IMAX Hubble Telescope.... available from netflix.... ridiculous LFE during the space shuttle launch scene. Actually received a text from my wife who was asleep on the 3rd floor (HT in basement)... "I guess we do have a sweet system"! Normally she could care less. lol[Y] Thats was with the A5-350's... not sure my 3100's would elicite the same text. still waiting on that 3400 blu!!! cornfedksboy
Watched Gattaca today. While not the greatest for surround sound, it's still a great movie. Also checked out Limitless, which I thought was very good!
