toddvj
So I got a new 32" LCD for my workout room. Right now I have it on a little end table, but am looking for a more permanent solution. My thought is, I want to mount it on one of the metal beams in the basement. I will post pictures later, but for now I'll try to describe it. I think it is 4x4 inches and is in the shape of an I (like Roman Numeral 1). If at all possible, I'd like to be able to swivel it, because we will also use the room for playing Wii, but have a different area for that. Does such an animal exist? Any suggestions? Thanks. Brac
I'm guessing you don't want to hear that you and drill and tap.
Beechnut
What your talking about is called an "I" Beam. As far as brackets go...not sure of what can clamp to it, you're likely looking at drilling holes then using nuts, bolts, washers.
JasonJCarney
I'm guessing this is a support beam for your house right? If so I wouldn't drill it. Get some metal straps and strap a 2x6 to the beam. Mount your brack on that. 32 inch tv should not be too heavy.
Brac
I'm not suggesting he cut a 4" hole. A few 3/8" holes will not effect the strength of the beam.
