Vital
What gold or silver plated copper banana plugs are you guys using for 10 gauge wire? Everytime I find what looks like a decent one it only supports 18-12 gauge. I have 10 gauge wire, what are you guys using? I'm not looking to spend a ton of money on these either, looking for bang for the buck! Thanks!
jhoak
I'm using a set of these on my 12Ga Phantom and 12 Ga Tributaries wires. I've been very pleased with them and they're reasonably priced. http://www.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?accstwek&1316144137&/8-Wbt-Style-Locking-set-of-24k

There's no improvement sonically for the extra expense. Bang for the buck and 10ga wire are mutually exclusive.
jhoak
There's no improvement sonically for the extra expense. Bang for the buck and 10ga wire are mutually exclusive. I could not agree more. BUT... If 10 gauge is what you have that's what you use. In my case at less than 10' long each 12 gauge is also WAY overkill but that's what I have in house so it's what I'm using. Oh come on... Who are we kidding? EVERYONE knows that you can move more water through a 3" fire-hose than a 1/2" garden hose. []
CECAA850
Try google? HERE HERE HERE I believe THESE will take 10 ga also.
Cornman
Vital, if you just trim a few strands off the ends -making a smaller diameter- they can be fitted into most 12ga. connectors. That has worked well for me.
Islander
Audioquest makes BFA (British Federation of Audio) banana plugs that accept up to 9 gauge cable. The BFA bananas (other companies sell them, too) have split cylindrical tips, rather than the straightened banana shape of, well, normal banana plugs. This provides more contact surface and is a good thing. They're available with gold or silver plating. You can buy them here: http://www.thecablepro.com/banana-plug-audioquest-cablepro.html Or here: http://www.needledoctor.com/Audioquest-SureGrip-Bananas?sc=7&category=1167 Or here: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/AudioQuest+-+Set-Screw+Banana+Plugs+(4-Pack)+-+Black/9522661.p?id=1218118269261&skuId= A less expensive option is the Knukonceptz eKs BFA bananas, which accept up to 8 gauge cable. However, with 8 gauge cable, the set screws will stick out too far to allow the screw-on sleeves to go back on. One solution for that is to use heat-shrink tubing instead of the sleeves. In the picture, you can see the Knukonceptz connectors used with Knukonceptz 8 gauge Karma Kable to connect to my old (pre-Klipsch) speakers. 10 gauge is plenty for Klipsch speakers. Vital
Thanks guys, going to look over these! Yes 10 gauge is a little overkill but I have 200ft of it so I'm gonna run with it! Hahaha
Dennie
....and 10 gauge lays nice on the floor. I use these, they accept up to 8 gauge and are $12.35 for a set of 4.... Islander
....and 10 gauge lays nice on the floor. On the floor? Oh no, no, no! You need Shunyata Dark Field Elevators to control static buildup and vibration from the cables' interaction with the floor. They're expensive, but isn't your system and your listening experience worth it? Groomlakearea51
I use these, with crimped and soldered 12 gauge wire; easy to work with and never had a problem. http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=091-
Rich_Guy
GLS banana's are great, they say they can be used for 10g wire. http://www.speakerrepair.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=locking
fini
I bought some of the "Nakamichi" banana connectors you see all over eBay. They seem well-made and do the job. I'm not sure why they're allowed to use the Nakamichi name (as I don't think they're made by Nakamichi!). eBay Nakamichi banana plugs

Panacea Engineering
They say "24 K Gold Plated" of which I doubt very seriously......! The barrells are more than likely common brass, and I mean common. Probably just enough brass in the mixture to barely conduct. Copper would be to soft of a material to use as in "solid". Coming out of Honh Kong, you can bet that it is a very cheap copy of a quality Nakamichi Banana Plug.
fini
I'm wondering if Nakamichi ever made banana plugs themselves? You're probably right about cheap materials. Not to say some of the other suggestions here use better (unless specifically stated). Anyway, the music goes in one end and comes out the other (right, thebes??).
