SteveBachman
Would the members please recommend a nice subwoofer to go with my RF82II / RC-62II / RS-52II system. Would like to spend $250-$500 max whether it is new or used.
willland
Steve, If you are within an hours drive of Kissimmee, Florida, I have a Paradigm Servo 15a for $500.00 for sale. Bill
SteveBachman
I know absolutely nothing about subwoofers. What should I be looking for? My speakers have 8" woofers. Does the subwoofer need to be bigger than that? What about crossover? Size? Front firing versus down firing? Powered versus passive? Can someone educate me. willland
What should I be looking for? My speakers have 8" woofers. Does the subwoofer need to be bigger than that? I would suggest a subwoofer larger than your front speakers' drivers. Minimum 10" but more on the lines of a 12". For music, I prefer an acoustic suspension(sealed) front firing subwoofer over a ported one. Some say that design is more accurate and musical. Dual driver designs(active and passive) can be very musical also. Many on this forum(and other forums) like a ported sub with a big ole driver(15" +) to hit the low lows for HT. Many different flavors for different tastes. Steve, give us your location so we can help you find something local to you if you decide on the used route. moray james
You could not possibly build or buy any sub better than this at $400.00 (you could not buy the parts and materials for this price) and you would be supporting an established forum member. I realize location would be a considered. Best regards Moray James. http://community.klipsch.com/forums/t/149697.aspx
