My other dvd player is a Denon 5900. The only problem I was having with it is that sometimes with a new release movie it did not want to load it. When I poped in one of my older dvd,s it worked perfect. I bought this 3800 and got it last night. All I had was dvd,s so I played one and was not impressed with the picture as it seemed to be grainy. I am very technicaly challenged when it comes to H/T so I did some research this morning. To this point the best I have been able to come up with is that it has to be programed to your tv. I dont want to start messing with it without first getting some advice. Any help would be very much appreceiated !!

Maybe set the player to accept the native DVD resolution(480i or 480P) and let it upconvert it to the max on your TV(720P or 1080P). Go to the AVS Forum http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1004155 and see what you can find. Bill
