Daddy Dee
I looked up the las vegas odds on the net, but don't understand what I'm looking at enough to even tell which team is favored. any help is appreciated.
Arky
New England is favored by three points at most places. So the game starts Giants 3 Patriots 0 for bettors. New England must win the game by more than 3 pts for New England bettors to collect.....otherwise they pay and Giants bettors collect. Say a New England 27 - 24 win; all bets are even. That's called a Push.
ace168516
Patriots favored by 3 last time I checked with and over/under of 54 on the game. The home team is usually spotted 7 points in the regular season, since there is no real home team, a 3 point margin is pretty much nothing...nobody is willing to put money on a clear favorite, so hopefully we will have a good game. If I were a betting man, I would take the over being it is a superbowl, in a dome, with 2 teams that do not have dominating defenses. aCE

Audible Nectar
Special note on this year's game: Vegas set the line at NE (-3) after the conference championships. NY has garnered in excess of 55% of the action based on this line, but the oddsmakers DO NOT want to move the line, It would be expected that the line would drop to NE (-2) or (-2 1/2), instead you can still bet NY (+3) but must pay 30% juice (instead of the customary 10%). Arky
the oddsmakers DO NOT want to move the line Why not? It would take the push out of the equation.
