Moderators dtel Posted February 5, 2012 Moderators Share Posted February 5, 2012 I know it's a business and winning comes first but even though I just answered my own question, this seems chicken&%$& ! Is it just me or is low to cut a player TODAY, the day before the superbowl ? http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/patriots-heartlessly-release-tiquan-underwood-eve-super-bowl-004651704.html
sunburnwilly
Yep it's low but the article I read stated that the Pats hope to have his services next season . #85 I expect will have a bigger role today than he has seen all year . By cutting the other guy the Pats were able to bring up a defensive player from the practice squad , which they need . Go Giants !!!
colterphoto1
low class move by a low class coach. Everybody here hates Bill Belichick, this is a sports town and we despise chaters, Indy is about 95% for NY.
JJkizak
The media/NFL is going ga ga over football---offensive rookie of the year, hot dog vender of the year, fan of the year, give me a break. JJK
Pete H
I know it's a business and winning comes first but even though I just answered my own question,Yes you did, but my first reaction was exactly the same as your's; but this is about winning the game and the coach doing everything he can to give his team the edge. I did read that he'll still get the ring if they win and he's been on and off the squad all year. I'm not a Pats or Giant's fan to speak of and just want to see a great game, but to deny the fact that Belichick is one of the greatest coaches in the game is like saying that Brady is an average quarterback. Audible Nectar
The pats had a roster decision to make..... They were deciding which two to keep out of three for today's game: Chad Ochocinco was expected to be that one left off the roster, but Belichick chose differently. It was a procedural move - and knowing what I know about the Pats and how they do business internally they will handle the cut player with class. He will certainly be welcome for the postgame celebration if it comes to that....
Moderators dtel Posted February 5, 2012 Author Moderators Share Posted February 5, 2012 I realize the coaches job is to use his best players to win but this couldn't have been done before the last minute? Like before the last few games, did they have the other player then? Or did someone get hurt and changes had to be made, If this guy didn't do so well he should have been replaced before the day before the superbowl, I would think. Either way I can't wait to see Madonna, Minaj and MIA, this is going to be great ! [][][+o(]
