ChipByrd
Hey, Is $600 a good price for an Adcom GFA-555 Power Amplifier and matching GFP-555 Pre-Amplifier? I have an opportunity to pick them up local. Thanks for the advice.
jess28
the gfa 555 usually goes for about 250 to 300 you can get the pre for under 200 i've bought a cout of the 555's and absolutly love them some ppl tell you they can be a bit bright but thats not my experience is it the mk 1 or mk ii that will make a difference in price
Dennie
It is not a bad price, but it seems a little high. Depends on condition and how much you want to pay. If they are in your budget and work well, I think you'll be happy with them. Keep us posted, Dennie
T.H.E. Droid
I That's probably too high. If it was the GFA 5500 and an Adcom preamp with both phono input AND a remote control, you'd be more in the ballpark of $600.
leftwinger57
I got my gfa555 for $300 from Audio Classics and it came slippery clean and as powerful and quite as advertised .I think it's a little high for the pair I picked up an Onkyo P-301 pre at a garage sale for $60 and it works great.
