Klipsch KG 2 capacitor value question

Hello all. I am considering recapping my KG 2 speakers and noticed the 8uF caps are a little hard to find. My question is, can I replace the 8uF with a 10uF perhaps if the voltage is the same? Will it make any difference in sound or possibly compromise the system in any way? Thanks for your help!

First off... Welcome to the forum.

No. Changing the value of the cap will move the crossover point. You can run 2 or more in parallel. I.E. 2 - 4uF = 8uF or 4 - 1uF = 8uF

Member BEC shows 8uF Sonicaps as available.

Edit to add:

I don't have the schematic for the KG2 but in a first order 2-way crossover changing the cap value from 8uF to 10uF drops the crossover point from 2500Hz to 2000Hz. You risk damaging the tweeter by asking it to play lower frequencies. Not to mention the potentially negative impact on the sound quality.

You probably do not want to spend that much on a pair of KG2's.

Here are some good caps that are not too expensive. Clarity Cap PX Series:

You can use the 8.2 or combine the 4.7 and 3.3 to be more exact.

I have use these before and had good results. About $20 total for two speakers plus shipping. Seems kind of steep for speakers that are only $100 give or take.

I checked Dayton caps and you can do both speakers for about $8 plus shipping:
