Rivernuggets
I will call Klipsch on Monday, but want to know if the upgrade kit is still available. The latest I can find in the archives is $300 per speaker before shipping. Is this price current?
cyto
I called in September and it was available, $300 + shipping per speaker kit if memory serves.

hugeroost
what all do you get in that 300 kit
garyeanderson
what all do you get in that 300 kit Take a look and Read Bob Crites original post on the kits that he bought when the upgrade kit was fairly new. The Kit is to Upgrade an H2 to an H3 so if you have an H1 it will not help you much. Islander
what all do you get in that 300 kit Everything in the cabinet, except for the mid horn. You get a new tweeter driver and horn, new mid/squawker driver, new woofer, and new crossover. The Heresy III update improves the sound in every way, and is a great deal. moray james
Big PLUS in every way better. But don't feel sad there is still lots you can do to an H3 if you want more. Best regards Moray James.
Cody_Mack
Sorry fellas, a decent search does not reveal if the conversion kit is still available from Klipsch. I know, I know, you're going to tell me to call them. Rick

CECAA850
@Cody_Mack the Part number for the kit is 1006972 if that helps.
muel
I love mine!
muel
Oh, I had 1986 Heresy's that had the round crossover cup but the upgrade kit has the rectangle version. Takes a little careful cutting to fit the crossover. See a few posts down on my upgrade project:
CANT
This actually wouldn't be a bad thing to get an update on... My guess would be that it is somewhere near $400 now though
Cody_Mack
Klipsch website indicates the kit is available, and I found a PDF with parts list and instructions. I wondered what's the deal with the terminal cup until I saw muel's post above. Price was not mentioned so I will make a phone call for that. http://support.klipschgroupinc.com/file.php?key=4JZUVTt-PqXuPlOwX46YXlXCMpUgyCeM&expires=1516838400&signature=5f6e5c24d19a0c42fdf5e73964d237b16d4ef6a5 Rick
USNRET
Weird; I just looked at my newly acquired HIIs and one has round speaker terminal cup (no sticker) and they other is an 1987 with square cup. I didn't really look I simply plugged and played ( I didn't hook them both up myself). How do I tell if the round is really a I or II? Cup is marked as II
Cody_Mack
Didn't all H1 have a terminal strip on the back? Some early HIIs did have the round cup.
Cody_Mack
H1 also removable back 👍
USNRET
Sorry, not to side track. It seems I have two HIIs just one earlier than the other. Way back when I bought my first Klipsch circa 1990 I was clueless about S/Ns, dates, etc.

The kit is made to bring a 2 to a 3, I don't belive it will work on a 1.
muel
You would have to replace the motorboard to make it work on the 1 in which case it really isn't worth wasting the effort.
