Delicious2
I'm running modded Khorns with Dave's Eliptrac midhorns, stock mid drivers and ALK universal xovers. I removed the stock rubber washers with their paltry 7/16" opening mating the driver to the original horn with the notion that a larger opening here is better. Mistake? PrestonTom
That sounds like a question for Dave.

Delicious2
Thanks for the responses Tom and Chris. Maybe Dave will weigh in on the question. Chris I gather you are of the same mind. The less between the diaphram and our ears the better. The purpose of the bug screen is obvious but what was PWKs reason for including that 11/16th" (sorry not 7/16th") ID rubber washer? Guest David H
Absolutely, do not use the rubber with the plastic k-55 adapter. Personally I remove the bug screen from the K-55 as well, but that is personal preference. Dave
Mighty Favog
Next thing is to pry out that nasty restrictive bug screen from the driver chris Did that on my Atlas'.

Delicious2
Next thing is to pry out that nasty restrictive bug screen from the driver chris I'm intimidated when I open the driver and find the diaphram and its electrical leads blocking me from getting at the bug screen. How to proceed?
Mighty Favog
I didn't take mine apart at all. I just punctured the screen with a no. 2 screwdriver and prude out the screen frame from underneath the frame lip. Of course don't stick the screwdriver down anywhere near the phase plug/diaphragm area. Not a good idea.

The Dude
Does removing the bug screen make a audio difference, what was the purpose for this screen if so.
The Dude
Absolutely, do not use the rubber with the plastic k-55 adapter Are you referring to the the plastic adapters from dayton, such as these http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=264-322&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=selenium%20adf25-25&utm_campaign=G_MFG_RS_Products_Exact&utm_group=264-322_Exact
ZombieWoof
Does removing the bug screen make a audio difference, what was the purpose for this screen if so. the bug screen is what it's name means keeps the bugs out , spiders are the worst for crawling in a CD , remember the driver was actually build for outdoor use . most if not all pro CD's have a bug screen does it affect audio , that a debatable topic
