jephdood
Must be in excellent physical shape and functioning flawlessly. Age may be a factor if it's too old. Don't want to deal with replacing drying/leaking caps. Don't want to spend any more than $600 shipped to my door in WA. Local poickup in my area would be great too. Or, I'll be in the Phoenix area the first week of March.PM me if you have something that might fit the bill along with your asking price. Thinking along the lines of Parasound, B&K, Anthem, Rotel, Adcom, etc. Thx.

willland
Jeff, You would be hard pressed to find a better and more powerful 3-channel amp for that price. It will drive the low end of your RF-3's like very few amps can. http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/ele/3623733012.html Maybe see if a local forum member will pick up for you if seller won't ship. jephdood
Thanks Bill.. looks like an excellent deal but for the fact that one of the channels isn't working. Just a fuse? Maybe... Don't have rf3's anymore. Guess I need to update my profile. []

Sorry Jeff, I guess I skimmed over that part. Don't have rf3's anymore. Guess I need to update my profile. What are you going to drive with this amp your seeking? willland
Jeff, Here ia a 5-channel Rotel rated at "only" 125w/ch and local to you. From the looks of the power supply, it should easily bench test more than rated power. If you are just going to use 3 channels, I bet it would test at close to 150/ch. http://seattle.craigslist.org/skc/ele/3606215788.html http://www.hometheater.com/content/rotel-rmb-1075-5-channel-power-amplifier-measurments Bill
willland
Don't count these babies out. These "only" 125w/ch monoblocks are awesome. I used a pair to drive Heresys, Quartets, RB-5's, fortes and they did not break a sweat. http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/ele/3598649107.html Bill
Guest David H
You could go with a new emotiva. $599 200 wpc Free shipping to USA http://shop.emotiva.com/collections/amplifiers/products/xpa3
jephdood
Considered that... but here's something I don't quite get: XPA-3 (200x3) = 850VA transformer XPA-5 (200x5) = 1200VA transformer LPA-1 - my current amp - (125x6) - 1200VA transformer Is Emotiva getting cheap with their newer offerings? I would expect the transformers on the XPAs to be larger than they are for the wattage they claim. You could go with a new emotiva. $599 200 wpc Free shipping to USA http://shop.emotiva.com/collections/amplifiers/products/xpa3

The tranformers are not all that is marginal....the Cap size and quantity are minimal as well. IMO, save a little more money and go after a quality used amp. The Rotel mentioned earlier is an extremely well built amp as they are much better built than the budget amps out there. I personally think Rotel is the most amp for the money out there period and the 1075 or 1095 are very clean. I would also consider Parasound, ATI, B&K, Bryston and of course McIntosh. I just saw a McIntosh MC205 go for $1550 on Ebay and I really wish it was heading to my house. Also, if you are running the Heritage series speakers you might want to be careful on how big of an amp you go with. The noise floor on most 200 watt amps isnt that good and will produce an audible hiss while no content is being sent through the AMP. Just a thought
