brw01162
I am starting to turn my basement into a full blown home theater (projection screen, 2 level seating, acoustic panels, etc.). Right now I have a living room set up of RF-63 RC-64 RS-52s and a sub-12. My living room is fairly big. However... my basement is smaller and I think the living room set up is a bit much for the basement. I really enjoy a good surround sound experience and not a whole lot of music will be played on the new setup. I'd like to keep the budget well below the living room setup. Any suggestions? Thanks All!
derrickdj1
Some RB 81's across the front and some RS speakers with a couple of subs. Give us a dollar amount since we don't know what the RF 63 system cost.
brw01162
It would be nice to keep the system under $2,000 but not sure if it's possible.
brw01162
I could always go ahead and move my current system downstairs... then my question would be how much do I lose replacing the floor standing speakers with bookshelf? Scrappydue
What kind of screen are you doing? If you are doing an acoustically transparent one three towers would be perfect up front. I think three rf-62's would be perfect! Couple rs-42's and a little better sub. That would be an awesome home theater.
wizop
You could drop down to the Synergy line and meet that budget. there is a 5.1 system on eBay with F-3 fronts, a C-2 center and a pair of S-2 rears with a sub thrown in for under $1700. I have a similar system with F-2's instead of 3's and a pair of ceiling speakers in the middle to make it 7.1 and I'm very happy.
