I hear the 818 is a great AVR...I really liked the 809 (when it worked), but seems the problems with the 809 were mostly worked out with the 818. Fish Posted March 12, 2013 Share Posted March 12, 2013 I'm pretty sure the problems with the most recent 809 have been resolved. Mine was one of the later models and it has no issues. It runs cooler than any avr I've owned since hdmi was incorperated. It's also the best sounding Onkyo I've had since they went digital in the 90's.
