The funny thing is I didn't recognize it was Steve for a bit - and he didn't remember me necessarily until I confirmed who it was. So it wasn't like I was getting special treatment either.

Hopefully the bean counters see the goodwill that comes about from that extra care that takes a bit longer than usual.

Know what you mean. I called the maker of a table saw I've been eyeballin' and the person that picked up the phone at first said to call the store that carried it. I already contacted the store asking about a very common accessory (router table leaf/extention) and they couldn't help me (thus why I called the mfgr).

But the person I called with the mfgr. had no clue what I was asking about and was relying on looking through the owner's manual. I bit my tounge hard to keep from asking if she even knew what it was I was asking about much less what a table saw was.
