Heritage_Head
Sorry to hear jp good luck on your bass hunt. You can get a pb13 ultra for 1500 if you wait for one to pop up in there clearance area. Not sure if thats in your budget but that will destroy an empire (and it should for the price). Put one close to your lp and your done imo. joshjp
Thanks REFHEAD, well now im thinking of getting the Rythmik FV15HP, any thoughts?
Heritage_Head
That was on my list when i finally landed on my first pb12 plus. Not sure but i have never read anyone saying they didn't like it. Do you want a movie sub or one that does both? You will get more bang if you get one thats all in on what you want. You had two empires so you will need a monster if you want a nice upgrade. Here is svs outlet special link. Not much in there right now but if you look everyday great deals pop up for new or slightly used with full warranty. The hsu vtf-15h was on my list too at the time but it might not be an upgrade over an empire. Whats your budget for one? http://www.svsound.com/outlet-specials
derrickdj1
joshjp I hope this pic come up right. It shows data on the Rythmik. The Rythmik has some impressive number and the servo subs are great for music fidelity. The kinda bass you are looking for, consider a passive CHT CS18.1 with a 18 in. driver. It is not to big since it uses an external amp of 2000 or 4000 watts for around the price of the Rythmik.http://www.avsforum.com/t/1313176/shootout-epik-empire-vs-hsu-vtf-15h-vs-cht-cs18-1-vs-rythmik-fv15-vs-ed-a7s-

Heritage_Head
I just don't know if the rythmik would be much of an upgrade from an empire. Im sure it has more low end but how much idk. The ultra is big upgrade but it does cost a lot more.
joshjp
The Rythmik and the SVS PB13Ultra are almost the same SPL's, but the SVS is better, but Tom at PSA is letteng me trade the XS-30 for the XV-30, and he wont sharge me shipping (stand up guy), so im going to get that.
