So it took you and others 12 years to notice this only because by calendar inevitability a civil rights leader's birthday coincided with a holy day. I wonder if you and others have the same reaction whenever MLK Jr. is mentioned somewhere?

I said I agree to bing being better ,imo. I assume I am allowed to have an opinion at least for a little while longer till the kooks totally take over? I tried it vs google and prefered it, you got a problem with that, tough cookies.....As to the rest of that jibberish, good luck with that........

I never paid much attention to Google doodles. But I checked and Oldtimer is quite correct. Google has not acknowledged Easter with a doodle since 2000. Yet on those many Easter dates Google did not offer up any doodles at all. If you check you'll find that Google was pretty holiday traditional with its doodles in the year 2000 and since then has trended towards more generic religious holiday doodle presentations in general. And they did no doodles at all on those Easters. I'd wager that somebody with that generic mindset simply misgauged how Cesar would be accepted in lieu of something Easter-like when both days coincided (the 31st is Chavezs' birthday and is officially Cesar Chavez Day). Google does not offer a daily doodle. They're sort of special. Doodles showed up whimsically and are fairly creatively entertaining. I knew Sunday was Easter and 5 A.M. I fire up the computer there was a Google doodle..... and it was not at all Easter themed. For the 1st time ever I clicked on the doodle and got the Google explanation that they opted out of any Easter theme intentionally. It was not that I disrespected Cesar Chavez it was that I felt Google disrespected every kids Easter Egg hunt. I suppose if they did nothing at all I'd still use them. But to be quite honest Bing is better. And to be even more honest, if Google wants to serve up public art related to public occasions downplaying and ignoring Christian holidays as doodle worthy is pretty poor public relations. If you're the director of marketing you do not alienate any major demographic for ANY reason. Google walked a fine line until Sunday and then it fell off the rope for the wrong reasons.

First the easter bunny and eggs are a pagan tradition and if anything is disrespectful to the christian easter. Any Christian should not really allow for egg hunts and easter bunnies.

Second Google has great tools that 95% of users never use because they don't understand them

Third if you really are boycotting Google then make sure to call and make sure your 401 k or mutual fund does not own any shares of google as per CEO of Starbucks defending their decision to defend gay marriage.

During the company’s annual meeting in Seattle last week, shareholder

Tom Strobhar spoke up, suggesting that the boycott was affecting the

company’s stock value: “In the first full quarter after this boycott was

announced, our sales and our earnings — shall we say politely — were a

little disappointing,” he said.

Schultz shot back that Starbucks’ endorsement of marriage equality wasn’t bad for business:

“If you feel, respectfully, that you can get a higher

return than the 38% you got last year, it’s a free country. You can sell

your shares of Starbucks and buy shares in another company. Thank you

very much,” Schultz said, to applause from the audience.

So......Klipsch wants to let their speaker site become a platform for religion bashing and a gay marriage movement. I see now why the thread lock was mentioned, I had no idea this site had become a movement.........

Welcome to America the land of the supposed free. And where people paid with the price of their lives so you and I can speak freely and not face persecution from the government.

As for religious bashing, yep I was bashing pagans. Prove me wrong with what the easter bunny and egg represent. Its a pagan tradition not a Christian one. That was matter of fact knowledge, no christian bashing involved.

As for the gay marriage movement, I just want to make sure that he was principaled in his decision to boycott google. If he truly wants to be a man of his word he should make sure that he does not inadvertantly own any google shares. Just as the CEO of Starbucks had to remind the shareholder that he has a right to sell his stocks.

May not be the search service. Just googled and binged "Schnitger organ".

Well, since Arp died in 1719, I am not entirely surprised there's no sale at Amazon...but I am sure they'll have a "...here are some related items" sale on Schlitz, Schlickers, etc. [:P]

Jesus would probably still use the Yellow Book. [A]

A careful reading shows I have no problem with any of it.

My, my, my what a mess. Y'know mebbe I am just a sucker waiting to be had by various psychological approaches to gaining my product loyalties. But, then again, mebbe not. Then again, mebbe we all are. As for myself. Nope, not tech savvy. Don't need to be. In ways I can't be. I'm too blind to see texting (for example). I aim to be a better techy as I determine it may benefit me. So yeah Bing is certainly capable enough for me and it appeals more to me. And yeah, Google's desire to neuter religion(s) from their 'doodles' I find culturally disrespectful. Guess what? Chinese food appeals to Chinese. Cantonese Chinese food appeals more to Chinese from Canton. America also has its regions and subcultures whose traditions are under assault by egalitarianism. Just try to not throw the baby out with the bath water.

I was afraid that googling "Schnitger organ" would take me to some gay porn site. I don't think Jesus was much into tech either, all He had to say the matter was "seek and ye shall find." But then, I'm hardly a theologian.

That's a silly argument. Most Chinese food that Americans think is Chinese food is Americanized Chinese food. And yep Google is trying to neuter religion by not posting easter bunnies and eggs.

C'mon Jay he must mean Chinese food in China and Cantonese in Canton. Your second sentence is of course sarcasm.

Oscarsear, I could tell you a story where the corporation I work for insulted me and others with a video presentation about of all things diversity. Did you know that Christmas is somehow more important to some ethnic groups than others, so lets applaud those (us) who have to work the holiday as scheduled and the rest can chip in so they don't call in sick because that's what they will do anyway? That to me is a real insult. Oops, just told ya.

Come to think of it, I might be wrong but I seem to recall a menorrah doodle on google last winter. Anyone know or remember?

Edit: Went back two years and didn't see one. Must be wrong then. Got tired of looking by then actually.
