General Turntable Needle and Cartridge Inquiry

All true, but in reality magnetic cartridges (as opposed to the styli) rarely "wear out". By the time any internal elastometric elements have hardened up, the user either finds that (a) the styli are out of production and the aftermarket ones are very costly or (B) they have upgraded to a better cartridge, or © they have said the heck with it and moved to the digital realm completly. Magnetic carts can be damaged mechanically, of course, and if there are QA problems to begin with they can manifest problems like those listed above.
