CF-4 12" Woofer replacement

Hello,

I have a pair of Epic CF-4 speakers (version 2) and one of the woofers in each speaker seems to be bad. At low frequencies it rattles a lot. I switch the bad woofers to the same cabinet then did a low frequency test from 5hz to 100hz and the good cabinet does not rattle at all and it produces clean bass. The bad one rattles and sounds like a helicopter taking off when doing the bass test. Where can I get a replacement woofer (two of them)? The part # is k-30-kn

Thanks,

Christopher

I would add that if you are going to change out speakers that you should replace all four loudspeakers or you will never achieve good results. My first line of action would be to see if a good re build shop will rebuild your existing drivers. That my prove less expensive and provide the best possible match. Good shops can replace your voice coils for you.Good luck. Best regards Moray James.

Hi all, first time poster here! I have been exploring the world of efficient speakers, and last week I stumbled upon a pair of CF-4 at a pretty decent price. The cabinets are in pretty decent shape, with a little touch-up and a new coat of poly I think they will look very nice - they are the black oak finish.

Anywho, the tweeters are fine, and so are three of the woofers. But one of the woofers has a seized suspension. The impedance is fine, and it makes noise, but with zero suspension travel it doesn't make much noise. I suspect the motor has somehow shifted, and the coil is pinched, but it's not easy to take these things apart. I am going to take it this weekend to National Speaker in Denver to let them look at it, but I'm not too optimistic.

Have Ebay alerts set, and I'm checking Craigslist as well. But, if anyone here has a K-30-KN woofer, I'd love to buy it!
