thebes
...banal, hackneyed, clichéd, vapid, overdone, hoarystupid love songs thingies. I’m fed up to here with silly little love songs, Well not thatone, which is kinda cute, but enough is enough. Does every single popular songhave to be about love. Fer cryng out loud, can’t we find something else to say. I mean, think about this lyric: “Shoot me like a soldier, don’thang me like a dog, I’ve fought for Irish freedom, to free the land I love”. Startsout great but then they can’t even keep the word love out of a fighting, propaganda rebel tune. Pah. I think I’lljust, gag, put on this tune by Patti Smith: I was dancin' with my darlin' to the Tennessee WaltzWhen an old friend I happened to seeI introduced her to my loved one and while they were dancin'My friend stole my sweetheart from me I remember the night and the Tennessee WaltzNow I know just how much I have lostYes, I lost my little darlin' the night they were playingThe beautiful Tennessee Waltz Yes, I lost my little darlin' the night they were playingThe beautiful TennesseeThey were playing the Waltz on the night I lost my love So what silly piece of soapy treacle gets your fur in a dander? seti
There need to be more songs about high effeciency horns and directly heated coupled single ended triode tube amps.

thebes
Maudlin as heck oh gosh. Implied family endearment, but not actually spelled out I was born and raised down in Alabama On a farm way back up in the woods I was so ragged that folks used to call me Patches Papa used to tease me about it 'Cause deep down inside he was hurt 'Cause he'd done all he could My papa was a great old man I can see him with a shovel in his hands, seeEducation he never had He did wonders when the times got bad The little money from the crops he raised Barely paid the bills we made For, life had kick him down to the ground When he tried to get up Life would kick him back down One day Papa called me to his dyin' bed Put his hands on my shoulders And in his tears he said He said, Patches I'm dependin' on you, son To pull the family through My son, it's all left up to you Two days later Papa passed away, and I became a man that day So I told Mama I was gonna quit school, but She said that was Daddy's strictest rule So ev'ry mornin' 'fore I went to school I fed the chickens and I chopped wood too Sometimes I felt that I couldn't go on I wanted to leave, just run away from home But I would remember what my daddy said With tears in his eyes on his dyin' bed He said, Patches I'm dependin' on you, son I tried to do my best It's up to you to do the rest Then one day a strong rain came And washed all the crops away And at the age of 13 I thought I was carryin' the weight of the Whole world on my shoulders And you know, Mama knew What I was goin' through, 'cause Ev'ry day I had to work the fields 'Cause that's the only way we got our meals You see, I was the oldest of the family And ev'rybody else depended on me Ev'ry night I heard my Mama pray Lord, give him the strength to face another day So years have passed and all the kids are grown The angels took Mama to a brand new home Lord knows, people, I shedded tears But my daddy's voice kept me through the years Sing Patches, I'm dependin' on you, son To pull the family through My son, it's all left up to you Oh, I can still hear Papa's voice sayin' Patches, I'm dependin' on you, son I've tried to do my best It's up to you to do the restI can still hear Papa, what he said Patches... thebes
Now my suspicion is that they are dancing to this tune: They asked me how I knewMy true love was trueOh, I of course repliedSomething here inside cannot be denied They said someday you'll findAll who love are blindOh, when your heart's on fireYou must realizeSmoke gets in your eyesSo I chaffed them and I gaily laughedTo think they could doubt my loveYet today my love has flown awayI am without my loveNow laughing friends derideTears I can not hideOh, so I smile and sayWhen a lovely flame diesSmoke gets in your eyesSmoke gets in your eyes Say, do you think they are Twins? Timmikid
This will get me in a mood of agressive rage, only antidote is something like Highway to Hell or some of White Light's insanity to calm me down again... "Nine Million Bicycles" There are nine million bicycles in Beijing That's a fact, It's a thing we can't deny Like the fact that I will love you till I die. We are twelve billion light years from the edge, That's a guess, No-one can ever say it's true But I know that I will always be with you. I'm warmed by the fire of your love everyday So don't call me a liar, Just believe everything that I say There are six BILLION people in the world More or less and it makes me feel quite small But you're the one I love the most of all [iNTERLUDE] We're high on the wire With the world in our sight And I'll never tire, Of the love that you give me every night There are nine million bicycles in Beijing That's a Fact, it's a thing we can't deny Like the fact that I will love you till I die And there are nine million bicycles in Beijing And you know that I will love you till I die! And BTW there are more bicycles in Amsterdam, but who gives a flying donkey!?
